Gazprom has sent to Poland the petition for the termination of investigation on "Nord Stream — 2" — Rambler News Service


Photo: globallookpress.com/Norbert Fellechner Gazprom has directed to Management of protection of the competition and consumers of Poland (UrzEd ochrony konkurencji i konsumentów, UOKiK) objection on a regulator position concerning the Nord Stream-2 project and also the petition for the termination of the procedure of the corresponding antimonopoly investigation, is told in materials of Gazprom. "Gazprom has sent to the objection address UOKIK on a position of the Polish antimonopoly authority and petitioned for the termination of the procedure of antimonopoly investigation", - notes gas holding. As explains Gazprom, the petition has been submitted on June 15, 2018. As earlier reported to RNS, in May of the current year Gazprom has received the letter from UOKiK concerning activities of the company for construction of the Nord Stream — 2 gas pipeline. UOKiK has begun investigation concerning Gazprom and five European companies — Shell, Engie, Wintershall, Uniper and OMV. According to the Polish department, activities of the companies for construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline can be attempt to bypass lack of consent of UOKiK to creation of the company financing the project. In July, 2016 UOKiK hasn't coordinated creation of Nord Stream 2 joint venture for construction of the Nord Stream — 2 gas pipeline. As a result the partner companies have withdrawn the submitted application about coordination of creation of joint venture. "Nord Stream-2" — the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea 1220 km long and 55 billion cubic meters in a year. "Nord Stream-2" directly will connect the Russian resource base and the European consumers. Construction of the gas pipeline will begin in 2018 and will come to the end at the end of 2019.
