Gazprom intends to reserve new capacities of GTS of Bulgaria for transit of gas to the EU — Rambler News Service


Photo: Gazprom Gazprom intends to reserve new gas transmission capacities in Bulgaria from bolgaro-Turkish to the bolgaro-Serbian border, under construction the Bulgartransgaz company within expansion of national gas transmission network, follows from the message of the Russian gas holding. "Gazprom watches closely development of the project on expansion of national gas transmission network of Bulgaria implemented by the Bulgartransgaz company on the site from bolgaro-Turkish to the bolgaro-Serbian border. Gazprom is interested in implementation of this project and expects the announcement of a phase 3 procedures of "An open season". Today Gazprom plans to participate in a procedure of booking of capacities, however the decision will be made taking into account booking conditions which will be known after the announcement of the beginning of a phase 3 procedures" — it is said in the statement. As the Russian company, implementation of the project on expansion of gas transmission network of Bulgartransgaz on the site from bolgaro-Turkish to the bolgaro-Serbian border notes if the specified project is implemented, will promote "to increase in safety of deliveries to Bulgaria, the region and the European Union, and will add new routes of supply of gas for the EU". Earlier the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak reported that the option of building of continuation of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline through Bulgaria and its extension to Austria is priority. "There are different options, routes. We have Greece-Italy option. There is an option of supply of gas through Turkey to Bulgaria, respectively further — Serbia, Hungary and Austria. Now for us the most priority is the direction towards Bulgaria and Austria" — the minister said. "The Turkish stream" — the project of the beztranzitny export gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea and further to border of Turkey with the adjacent countries. The first gas pipeline will be intended for the Turkish market, the second — for gas supply of the countries of Southern and Southeast Europe. Power of each thread — 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas a year. On November 19, 2018 the current year Gazprom completed the construction of the offshore section of the gas pipeline.
