The first about Kolomoysky's return to Ukraine in the Telegram channel were reported by the journalist Mikhail Tkach. According to it, at 2:30 in the night on May 16 from Tel Aviv in the airport of Dnieper the plane of the Privat group arrived. The businessman in the comment confirmed to the edition that he returned to Ukraine, having noted that he does not know, than will be engaged first of all. As specifies the edition, the businessman was not in Ukraine since June, 2017, he lived in Switzerland, and then Israel. Kolomoysky from March, 2014 to March, 2015 headed the Dnipropetrovsk region. After resignation the businessman left Ukraine. Earlier, as reported LB.ua, the businessman said that he will return to Ukraine after publication of official results of presidential elections. On December 19, 2016 the government of Ukraine made the decision on nationalization of Privatbank which main owner was the Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoysky. In January, 2017 Ukraine capitalized Privatbank for $4 billion, or 107 billion hryvnias. The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) estimated losses of the state from nationalization of Privatbank at 7% of GDP. The regulator also said that before nationalization the Privatbank was a financial pyramid as the bank had no resources for return of deposits. In April, 2019 the court in Kiev satisfied Kolomoysky's claim to the NBU and the government of Ukraine, having recognized as illegal nationalization of Privatbank.
