The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak has stated haplessness because of the statement of the United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry after the meeting of ministers about a possibility of imposition of new sanctions against Russia because of implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project. "We are concerned about statements according to new sanctions which become concerning absolutely competitive project in which all European consumers are interested and we see that consumption of gas grows in Europe, own production falls", - Novak has told journalists at a joint press conference from Perry. He has noted that Pipeline gas is the most reliable and available way of providing consumers with energy resources and in the most peak values which happen very often in Europe during the cold periods. "And, of course, such projects as "Nord Stream-1", "Nord Stream-2", Yamal-Europe, "The Turkish stream" and the new project which is implemented to Europe through Azerbaijan and Turkey - are directed to protection of interests of the consumer", - Novak has told. "Nord Stream-2" — the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea 1220 km long and 55 billion cubic meters in a year. Laying of pipes for "Nord Stream — 2" in the Baltic Sea has begun in July, 2018. It is expected that construction of the gas pipeline will come to the end at the end of 2019.
