Russia and Pakistan have agreed about construction of the sea gas pipeline on which gas from fields in the territory of Iran will be delivered to consumers in Pakistan and India, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reports. "The Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anatoly Yanovsky and the Deputy Minister of Energy of Pakistan Cher Avhan-Hang have signed the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan about cooperation in the sphere of implementation of the project of the sea pipeline", - it is said in the statement of the ministry. The document assumes rendering full support to the project of the sea pipeline. Definition of authorized organizations through which support of the project will be conducted is provided in it, including when developing the feasibility study - definition of resource base, a configuration and route of the gas pipeline. The Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anatoly Yanovsky has noted that interaction of Russia and Pakistan in branches of energy industry isn't limited to the project of the sea pipeline: in particular, consultations on the project of the North-South gas pipeline are conducted. According to Yanovsky, the project of supply of LNG to the market of Pakistan can become the perspective direction of interaction, in a study stage there is also an intergovernmental agreement on supply of oil products from Russia to Pakistan. Besides, interest in the Pakistani market is shown Russian power industry.
