Photo: MOD Russia via globallookpress.com Russia will suppress satellite navigation, radar station and communication systems of the fighting aircraft attacking Syria in the water area of the Mediterranean Sea, adjacent to Syria, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoygu has reported. "In areas, adjacent to Syria, over the water area of the Mediterranean Sea radio-electronic suppression of satellite navigation, the onboard radar stations and communication systems of fighting aircraft attacking objects in the Syrian territory will be carried out. Are convinced that realization of these measures will cool hotheads and will hold from the rash acts posing threat of our serviceman. We will react otherwise according to the developing situation" — Shoygu on air of Russia-24 TV channel has told. As the minister has noted, such measure is reciprocal on actions of Israel which, according to Russian Defense Ministry, is responsible for death of the Russian Il-20 plane. "The Israeli crews, perfectly knowing an air situation, were covered with the Russian plane that has led to his defeat and death of our 15 servicemen. It has compelled us for acceptance of the adequate countermeasures directed to increase in safety of the Russian military personnel" — the Minister of Defence has told. Silt-20 has been brought down by the air defense rocket of Syria over the Mediterranean Sea on September 17. He came back from the province Latakia to Hmeymim base at the moment when the Israeli Air Force has begun to strike blows to the territory of Syria. Onboard there were 15 people, all of them have died. According to the ministry, the Israeli planes have purposely created a dangerous situation for the surface ships and aircrafts which are in the district of Latakia — the Israeli pilots, being covered with the Russian plane, have set up him under fire of means of the Syrian air defenses.
