"S7 Airlines makes the decision to temporarily stop operation of the Boeing 737 MAX liners from 00:01 o'clock on March 13 Moscow time before obtaining more detailed information on investigation of the causes of accident of the Ethiopian Airlines plane. Specialists of airline are in continuous dialogue with Boeing and watch closely investigation" — it is said in the statement. The airline only in Russia operated this Boeing model. Suspension of operation will not influence the schedule of flights, notes carrier. "The decision will not affect regularity of flights of airline — flights will be made in the normal mode. All park of S7 Airlines consists of 96 aircrafts, of them two Boeing 737 MAX liners" — the company notes. On March 10, 2019 in Ethiopia near the capital of Addis Ababa there was a crash of Boeing-737 Max 8. The plane went to Nairobi. Onboard there were 149 passengers and eight crew members, nobody survived. In the death toll — three citizens of Russia. Accident in Ethiopia became the second with participation of the Boeing-737 Max 8 plane for the last half a year. On October 29, 2018 the plane of the same model of Lion Air airline crashed near Jakarta. Died all being onboard 189 people. Earlier the decision on suspension of flights of Boeing-737 Max 8 was made by the authorities of the EU, China, Indonesia, Poland, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, Austria, Malaysia and some other countries. Rosaviatsia sent inquiries to representation of Boeing in the Russian Federation and Federal aviation management of the USA for recommendations about further operation of Boeing-737 Max 8.
