The aluminum association and the Russian Association of Founders (RAF) signed the cooperation agreement within which they will work in common on creation and development of modern materials, technologies and the equipment in the industry, follows from the press release following the results of a signing ceremony. The agreement is also calculated on increase in professionalism and qualification of producers of aluminum details and components in such areas as certification, control, certification, vocational training and assessment of quality in the field of foundry production. "For an exit of aluminum branch to new qualitative level it is necessary to develop competitive and highly effective foundry capacities, to create favorable conditions for production of technological, innovative products and productions, to develop interindustry cooperation. Aluminum casting plays an important role in mechanical engineering, automotive industry, aircraft, transport mechanical engineering, TNP, etc. branches therefore developing domestic market, we will be able to make domestic goods not only more available at the price, but also more competitive in foreign markets. But the most important that new modern productions in Russia are new jobs for thousands of experts" — the head of Aluminium association Valentin Trishchenko told. In the message it is noted, one of the perspective directions of development in this sphere is the automotive industry where the share of import of aluminum semi-finished products makes about 60%. According to forecasts, in 2018 the general need for aluminum from automotive industry will make 254 thousand tons, of them — 58% (149 thousand tons) import, and 42% (106 thousand tons) — autocomponents of the Russian production. At the same time nearly 120 thousand tons of aluminum annually are the share of cast components (without light-alloy wheels), but only less than 60% of this demand become covered by domestic production. For example, more than 80% in the cost of new engines make import accessories, of them a casting share — 50%.
