The Energy Minister of the USA Rick Perry has said that Washington keeps a possibility of imposition of sanctions against "Nord Stream — 2", RIA Novosti reports. "Sanctions are imposed by the president. This option remains, but is clear that the USA very much is afraid of lack of diversification in Europe" — Perry after the meeting with the Minister of Energy of Poland Krzysztof Tkhuzhevsky has told. He has emphasized that the position of Washington hasn't changed and the USA isn't supported by construction of this gas pipeline. According to Perry, the project "would increase dependence of many countries of Europe on Gazprom even stronger". "Nord Stream — 2" — the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea 1220 km long and 55 billion cubic meters in a year. He directly will connect the Russian resource base and the European consumers. On September 19 the U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the USA isn't going to impose sanctions against the companies which participate in construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. Before, on September 19, Rick Perry following the results of a meeting with the Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak has allowed imposition of new sanctions concerning Russia because of construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. On October 9 Novak has said that construction of the Nord Stream — 2 gas pipeline will be complete even in case the USA imposes sanctions against participants of the project. On November 6 the Nord Stream 2 company, the operator of construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, has reported that she has constructed totally already more than 200 km of the gas pipeline in territorial waters of Germany and in an exclusive economic zone of Finland. It is expected that construction of the gas pipeline will come to the end at the end of 2019.
