The commission investigates whether BMW, Daimler and VW have agreed not to compete with each other in development and deployment of systems for decrease in harmful emissions from petrol and diesel cars. These technologies are directed to that cars were less harmful to the environment. "If this conspiracy is proved, it can deprive of consumers of an opportunity to buy the cars which were less polluting the environment in spite of the fact that this technology is available to producers" — it is specified in the message. Check of the BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Audi plants in Germany has been carried out in October, 2017.
