Earlier the Mail.ru Group company has appealed to HRC to initiate check of constitutionality of provisions of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. "Council will prepare the relevant proposals this week. According to an order of the president they will go to the Russian Popular Front and to the Prosecutor General's Office. It (a problem of criminal prosecution for publications and reposts in social networks — RNS) can be solved through change of articles" — Fedotov has told, answering a question of the planned actions after the address of Mail.ru Group. Fedotov has explained that council can't appeal to the Constitutional court as it would contradict the law on the Constitutional court. "We didn't see this inquiry (Mail.ru Group — RNS) yet, I am in Novosibirsk now. As soon as I see him, I will be able to estimate him. But already now it is obvious to me that Council can't appeal to the Constitutional court with inquiry as it would contradict the law on the Constitutional court. The law provides other mechanisms which, of course, can use" — he has explained. Fedotov has emphasized that "Council considers that it is very relevant to solve this problem, but we are opponents of simple and obvious decisions". "They seem obvious, and actually they can be wrong. There is a remarkable formula: the most complex problems always have the wrong decisions, simple and clear for understanding" — he has told. Earlier Mail.ru Group has addressed to the State Duma, the Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice and to the Commissioner for Human Rights concerning criminal prosecution for publications and reposts on social networks, it is said in the statement of the company. The address to the Commissioner for Human Rights of Mail.ru Group contains a request to create the appeal to the Constitutional court of the Russian Federation with the question "about check of constitutionality of provisions of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in that part in which on the sense given to such provisions by broad approach to law-enforcement practice they are applied to the detriment of the rights and freedoms guaranteed to Art. 29 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and don't correspond to Art. 29 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, directly violating constitutional rights and freedoms of users".
