Since July 1, 2019 the Ministry of Energy suggests to index tariffs for 4% — on the predicted rate of inflation. "In a type of increase in a rate of the VAT of the Ministry of Energy considers expedient and economically reasonable to index tariffs for housing and communal services for 1,7% since January, 2019, since July, 2019 — on the level of the predicted inflation of 4%" — have noted in the ministry. On August 3 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the law which assumes increase in a rate of the VAT from 18% to 20%. The law comes into force since January 1, 2019.
