It was said by the American president Donald Trump. "We aren't going to do it" — the press service of the White House cites Trump's words. At the same time he has noted that he considers this project unsuccessful for citizens of Germany who annually "pay Russia billions and billions of dollars" for energy. "And I can tell you that this isn't pleasant to Germans" — Trump has added. On September 13 the Energy Minister of the USA Rick Perry following the results of a meeting with the Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak has allowed imposition of new sanctions concerning Russia because of construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. Novak, in turn, has hoped that reasonable approach will prevail and the Nord Stream-2 project will continue to be realized. According to him, the position of Russia is based on the interest of the European consumers. Earlier official representative of State Department of the USA Heather Nauert said that sanctions within the law "About Counteraction to Opponents of America by means of Sanctions" (CAATSA) can be imposed against the companies working with Russia in the sphere of pipelines which deliver energy resources. In particular, it was talked of "Nord Stream-2". "Nord Stream-2" — the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea 1220 km long and 55 billion cubic meters in a year. Laying of pipes for "Nord Stream — 2" in the Baltic Sea has begun in July, 2018. It is expected that construction of the gas pipeline will come to the end at the end of 2019.
