Ukraine appealed against the decision of the WTO on a dispute with Russia on railway cars — Rambler News Service


Photo: Ukrainian Foto/PhotoXPress.ru Ukraine appealed against the decision of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the case of restriction of the Ukrainian export of railway cars and railroad switches, have reported in the press service of the organization. "on August 27 Ukraine has submitted the appeal concerning the report of the WTO on business excited by Ukraine under the name "Russia — the Measures Influencing Import of the Railway Equipment and Their Parts"" — it is said in the statement. The press service has specified that the parties of a dispute can appeal against the decision of the commission. At the same time appeals have to be based on legal statuses and don't may contain the actual conclusions which are already studied by the commission. The appeal of Ukraine will be considered by three members of the constant commission of the WTO. As a rule, on studying of the document leaves up to three months. On July 30 the current year it became known that the WTO has rejected the complaint of Ukraine to Russia on the case of the railway equipment. The dispute concerned restriction of import from the Kryukovsky car-building plant, the Azovzagalmash enterprise, the Dnipropetrovsk plant of railroad switches and engineering plant FED in Kharkiv. As a result of the imposed restrictions export of production of these enterprises to Russia was reduced during the period from 2012 to 2016 from $2,6 billion to $95 million. For the first time Ukraine has addressed to the WTO with the claim in October, 2015.
